Découvert par Engelhardt en 1912.

Caractéristiques :  Corps cylindrique. Tête conique déprimée vers l'arrière.

Taille :  jusqu'à 55 cm.

Alimentation : petits poissons benthiques.

Reproduction : ovovivipare.

Danger potentiel : aucun.

Exploitation humaine : aucune.

Géographie : Eaux profondes du Japon.
